The following is a list of the programs and services provided by Monadnock Family Services to more than 7,500 consumers each year in the Monadnock Region: |
Outpatient Programs
Child, Adolescent & Family Services
Child, Adolescent and Family Services provides families with a continuum of care designed to support and promote good mental health in children and families. This includes individual, group and family
counseling, case management, parent education, parent aide and respite services, psychological testing, and medication evaluation and monitoring. |
Adult Outpatient Services The Adult Outpatient program provides mental health evaluation and treatment to adults in the Monadnock Region who are not severely mentally ill. Services include individual, group, couple and family counseling, medication evaluation and monitoring, as well as an array of specialized educational and therapeutic groups. |
Older Adults Program The Older Adults Program offers group and individual counseling, case management, home visits, medication evaluation and monitoring, and related services to adults over 60 dealing with mental health issues such as depression. |
Monadnock Substance Abuse Services
A comprehensive substance abuse treatment
program offering outpatient counseling for
individuals, families and groups. |
Child & Family Case Management
Provides case management services to children
diagnosed with a serious emotional and/or
behavioral disorder. Offering advocacy,
coordination, referral and linkage to
community-based supports and services. |
Parent Outreach Project
Offering community-based education to
parents of children of all ages. Services
include support and parent skills education
for pregnant and parenting teens. |
Parent Aide Program
The Parent Aide Program provides homebased,
family-centered support services to
parents under stress, or at risk of child abuse
or neglect as identified by the NH Division of
Children, Youth and Families. |
BabyTime
In-home parent education and preventative
health support for pregnant women and their
babies through the first year of life. |
FamilyTime
Comprehensive community-based
intervention with families to prevent child
abuse and neglect. |
Challenge Program
Offering activity-based, group experiences
that use problem-solving initiatives to
enhance self-esteem, cooperation, decision-making,
interpersonal communication skills
and trust-building. The adventure-based
model utilizes outdoor challenges such as high
and low ropes courses, rock climbing and
hiking to reach and engage children and
youth. |
MANY Options
A comprehensive after-school program
offering area youth an array of safe and drugfree
activities ranging from sports to the arts
to academic tutoring. |
The Monadnock Volunteer Center
The Volunteer Center, through its Young
Monadnock Cares and the Retired Senior
Volunteer Program (RSVP), serves as a
central clearinghouse for volunteer
opportunities throughout the Monadnock
region. Programs include Neighbors In Deed,
Mentoring, America Reads and others. |
Acting Out
A dramatic arts program to help youth
explore contemporary issues through
expressive arts, and group and peer
interaction. |
Cheshire Mediation
Cheshire Mediation offers comprehensive
mediation services to many sectors of the
community. Services include a no-fee,
volunteer-staffed family mediation program,
divorce mediation, victim-offender
mediation, and consultation and training to
schools, businesses and industry. |
Monadnock Adult Care Center
The Adult Care Center offers support and
social experiences to adults who are
experiencing dementia, Alzheimer’s disease or
other deteriorating conditions related to
aging, while offering family members and
caretakers a respite from the demands of care
taking. |
Community Education
Our Community Education efforts seek to
educate residents on issues related to mental
health and mental illness and to promote
community responses and activities that are
preventative and supportive in nature. A
primary aim is to reduce the stigma related to
mental illness. |
All R Kids (ARK)
All R Kids is a supervised visitation center
providing a home-like setting for parents and
children to meet in safety. The visitation
center is used by parents who are separated
from their children due to domestic violence
situations, foster care or other circumstances
where a child’s safety and well-being may be
at risk. |
Respite Program
The Respite Program provides both daytime
and overnight care to children with severe
emotional disturbances, providing relief for
parents or primary caregivers. |
Training and Consultation
Our consultants and trainers are MFS staff
who offer education and consultation to
consumers, families, agencies, governments
and corporations, regionally, nationally and
internationally. |
Recovery Services
Recovery Services at Monadnock Family
Services provide bio-psychosocial services to
persons with severe or long-term mental
health concerns. Programs emphasize a
person’s right to self-determination and
growth, with a focus on their overall health, skill-building
and individual potential. Services are available to people
eligible by the standards of the NH Bureau of Behavioral
Health Services. |
In SHAPE
Through this program, people with severe
mental illness access services such as nutrition
education, fitness activities, and smoking
cessation programs. Participants are also
supported in seeking routine medical care to
help monitor and improve their physical
health. |
Psychiatry
The psychiatric staff provides assessments,consultation and leadership to the Recovery Services treatment team. Medication evaluation and monitoring, and consultation to other care providers are offered as well. |
Case Management Services
Case Management Services decrease the need for psychiatric hospitalizations by providing the support needed for successful independent living and self-directed treatment. Community and Family Service
Specialists coordinate the array of Recovery Services and other community-based services available to help integrate pesons with severe mental illness into the life of the community. |
Acute Care Services
Acute Care Services provides 24-hour a day psychiatric emergency evaluations, interventions and timely referrals to other appropriate services. Acute Care Services activates the treatment and support systems necessary to respond to psychiatric emergencies and to stabilize persons in crisis. |
Vocational Services
Vocational Services provide education, training and support within a supported employment/recovery model. Components include assessment, support, job development and placement, and job support. |
Nursing & Dietetic Services
Nursing and dietetic services are provided by certified professionals familiar with psychiatric and mental health settings. |
Dialectical Behavior Therapy - DBT
DBT is a broad-based, cognitive-behavioral treatment developed specifically for individuals diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. Program features include group skills training and individual treatment. |
Emerald House
Emerald House is a fully-staffed, 24-hour, 7-days-a-week transitional community residence serving as an alternative to longterm hospitalization. |
