Monadnock Adult Care Center

22 North St.
Jaffrey, NH 03452

The Monadnock Adult Care Center offers structured care during the day to adults with physical, emotional, or social challenges.  Our mission is to improve the quality of life of our members, their families, and caregivers while we support an individual’s efforts to remain independent.

Our program:

  • Helps adults remain in their homes as long as possible.
  • Provides respite care for families.
  • Offers activities that maintain or improve the physical, mental, and social well-being of our members.

Community Interaction:

A highlight of each month from September through the end of the school year is the day that Patty Long's third grade class at Jaffrey Grade School visits the Monadnock Adult Care Center. "This has been the highlight of our year" Patty said. The children play bingo and other games with the folks that spend their days enjoying all the center has to offer, as well as singing with them during the holidays.

In 2016, the Jaffrey Grade School's student council presented a $210 check to the Monadnock Adult Care Center, the proceeds raised through bake sales for this nonprofit organization that is near and dear to their hearts. "This means so much to us, especially since it came from you", said Monadnock Adult Care Center Administrator, Christine Selmer. "I hope you continue to take the time to volunteer as adults."

Parents of the students have also shared with Mrs. Long that they have noticed what a positive experience it has been for their child, and other students, to visit the center and to see the positive impact the students visiting have on the clients.

  • Promoting involvement in enjoyable activities and programs.
  • Focusing on the present and future, not the past.
  • Renewing the desire to continue living.

Individuals, families, social agencies, and physicians are encouraged to contact the Monadnock Adult Care Center for further information or an application.
