“The community sees MFS as being the community Mental Health Center that provides Mental Health Services. The MFRC is now recognizing MFS as an agency that is growing to provide preventative services to children and families.” Carolyn DeBell

Monadnock Family Services (MFS) is pleased to announce its new Monadnock Family Resource Center.

The mission of this center is to “…inspire and promote family empowerment by providing information, resources, and activities…” for families in the Monadnock Region.

Its goal is to serve as a place where families are connected to services and programs designed to help make the task of parenting easier. On that end, MFS’s vision is that these families are “strong and healthy, creating caring environments for their children and future generations.”

While continuously working toward expanding its reach into the greater community, the Monadnock Family Resource Center will begin with current MFS programming including Baby Time, Family Time, Parent Outreach Program, Mother’s Care, Grandparent Support Group, All-R-Kids, and the Child Impact Program.

Baby Time provides support for moms during their pregnancy and the baby’s first year of life. Family Time is a home-based program that provides intervention through educations, support, and linkages to community services. The Parent Outreach Program includes workshops, support groups, and consultations for parents. Mother’s Care is a mentoring program that offers support, companionship, information, tips and strategies for young mothers. The Grandparents Support Group offers support for grandparents, information, networking and resources. All R Kids is a safe visitation center that allows families in crisis to maintain their ties. The Child Impact Program works to make divorce easier on children.

As the Monadnock Family Resource Center grows, the goal is to move from being a phone service referral line to an actual center where parents and other family members can come to get information to help them.
